Joy Mowett-Fuller is a native of the beautiful island of Jamaica. As a family practitioner, patient education, health promotion, and illness prevention are a significant aspect of the practice. She is very compassionate and efficient in working with patients of diverse ages, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dr. Charles is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with extensive experience across diverse healthcare settings. Throughout her career, she has worked within large healthcare systems in specialties including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Women’s Health, Orthopedics, Concierge Medicine, Neurology, and Oncology, as well as pediatrics in the home health setting. Her broad clinical background allows her to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across the lifespan.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with a concentration in Family Practice from Florida Atlantic University.
Doctoral Dissertation:Focused on enhancing obesity care within Afro-Caribbean communities through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. Her work emphasized obesity as a chronic, relapsing disease process—an often misunderstood condition requiring long-term, coordinated care strategies.
Professional Interests: Passionate about health equity, preventative care, and empowering patients to take an active role in managing chronic conditions.
Personal Interests: Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Charles enjoys watching nature and wildlife documentaries and spending quality time with her family. She is honored to serve the community and looks forward to partnering with patients on their health journey.
